@Wal well I tried both of the precise version from #152 and #162 above and it leaves my monitor stuck in 640 x 480 mode. Nothing appears to be able to change this, including changes to xorg.conf and running nvidia- xconfig . The latter says I'm not running an nvidia driver. So it's a total bust for me with my Nvidia gtx 280. At least the beta driver let me run gnome 3. Unfortunately the latter is just too buggy to be useful.
