I think I have the same problem. I run Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) with the Intel 82852/855GM chipset on a Acer TravelMate 240. I cannot change the 'Option "AccelMethod" "XAA" ' because my xorg.conf doesn't contain that information (a lot of stuff has been commented out by hal). I will include a screenshot and my xorg.conf file
