It also needed that "//ViaLVDSDFPPower(pScrn, on);" part. I compiled first with plain 747 revision, that one which has that patch which Martin described, but it did not fix the problem. ViaLVDSDFPPower(pScrn,on); in via_lvds.c needs to be commented out, and then it works.
