BTW, I also installed the new firmware for the wireless network card with b43.fw-cutter as indicated in the Hardware drivers item on the same menu as where the STA driver can be found after temporarily deactivating STA. I didn't notice any problems with updating the firmware, but it didn't do away with the problem of the wireless connection being dropped, either. I can't remember seeing any information as to what the firmware update is supposed to correct.
