I don't even know what a a11y is, so I guess I'm not using that. I am running running a thin client setp either. I quickly looked over my .xsession-errors file but didn't see anything I thought was related to this bug. Nothing changed in this file when I re-produced this bug. I don't believe I have any other clicking problems with other apps.
