No, someone might not discover this via this bug, because Ubuntu administrators and volunteers maintaining country-specific mirrors do not subscribe to the thread for package bugs that appear on Launchpad. Additionally, as mirrors being out of sync is a common occurance, package maintianers are unlikely to take it upon themselves to alert administrators about this.
