Is it possible that this bug is affecting other applications too? I occasionally (but not nearly as often) see similar behavior in Firefox - it hangs for a few seconds and then eventually 'catches up' and goes through all the keyboard/mouse movements in high speed (this is without synergy installed, but the behavior seems similar)
