Some people already confirmed this in the past so I set status to
confirmed. According to your grub menu.lst file, you don't use any
framebuffer drivers, so this is definitively a bug.

Can you say what Xorg driver your using? Is it the opensource nv driver or the 
restricted nvidia? Can you switch from one driver to the other to see if you 
can reproduce the bug with both nv and nvidia drivers?
Is it also possible to provide a picture (a photo?) of the corrupted screen as 
an example?
