Hello It seems you have done manual configuration. Enable roaming mode so that NetworkManager configures your interface. When you have done that, you can get network information by right-clicking the network-manager applet which appears besides the clock.
I don't think you have discovered any bugs in Ubuntu so I will change this to Invalid.
