I get the HAL error on my desktop too but also a number of other errors on my laptop.
I have the saa7134 device in my desktop but nothing like that in the laptop. The saa7134 TV tuner is not being recognised currently with the older kernel (14) by TV tuner apps but does show in lspci correctly.
