What does "/etc/localtime" point to? If "/usr" is part of the root partition it should be a soft-link. If so, point it to "/usr/share/zoneinfo/Etc/GMT+8"
If /usr is a separate partition then copy "/usr/share/zoneinfo/Etc/GMT+8" over "/etc/localtime". If you change "/etc/timezone" to point to the new 'timezone' then future updates to tzdata shouldn't undo these changes. -- tzdata upgrade changes zone https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/209387 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
