Okay, I figured out that there is a printer administration tool, which can be found under Applications -> System -> Printing. However, it seems very buggy. For example, it did not accept the PPD file I gave it to configure my printer. I finally succeeded in setting up my printer withe the CUPS web administration tool. What should be done anyway is incorporate the printing setup into System Settings.
