I think it has something to do with a bug in the dapper version of
xserver-xorg-driver-nv . I guess I had also  that problem on gentoo but
got solved after an upgrade. So did I in Ubuntu, decided to upgrade to
edgy and the problem got solved, now I can use either X11 and X11/Xv.

Another issue is that I can not use xrandr to change the orientation of
the screen (neither in Dapper nor in Edgy) but works well when I fix it
on the Xorg.conf file (after a restart).
