About which SCIM method to select, no problem. As soon as all required
Vietnamese input methods are available, it's alright. I also think it's
better to have no default for this for "political" reasons (classic
North/South conflicts). ;-)

The m17n 1.4.0 is not absolutely required, but...
The 1.3.1 version has a nasty backspace bug: you have to use shift backspace, 
or comment two lines in the input method source file.
The "free typing" (entering tone mark at the end of the word) is highly 
appreciated and only (correctly) available from version 1.4.0.

About the m17n in Debian, there have been some wishlist bug reports for
upgrade but without reaction (I didn't check recently though). I had no
specific problem to package the 1.4.0. I just re-used the packaging
information from Debian to do it, without much change (disabled patch
for Tamil included upstream). Thanks for taking this.

I have finally downloaded Hardy Alpha 6 successfully and will now be
able to test the Colin correction included.
