Here is the presentation I referred to. (AS-Level ICT coursework.) It was created using Powerpoint XP, although it may have since been edited using Powerpoint 2003. Correctly rendered, the gradients into transparency are intended to feather the edges of the images that they overlay. The presentation also highlights several other graphical, animation and timing glitches in Impress, but I can't figure out exactly what they are, so I haven't reported them as bugs.
