Having the same problem. Thinkpad T42, Mobility Radeon 9600 with the new 8.01 fglrx driver. Compiz wont start, compositing and AIGLX is enabled in xorg.conf. Compiz.real output - "Fatal: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is missing" Other Open-GL programs work without problems.
