these are 300 source package on both arm64 and ppc64el, which are unchecked, and you are just disabling offloading for the whole arm64 and ppc64el archive. I don't think this is acceptable.
There are two alternatives: - don't hijack the existing rocr-runtime / hipblas stack on other architectures, by having separate source packages for this handful of packages. Package these using different sonames for the rocm stack. - Build things like rocr-runtime / hipblas / ucc using the rocm stack on amd64, using a recent llvm 23 on the other architectures. The first approach has the disadvantage of duplicating some source packages, the latter that you need an upstream LLVM capable to build on the other architecture. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2166379 Title: [rocm] ucc: disable ROCm/HIP backend on arm64, ppc64el (Ubuntu only) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ucc/+bug/2166379/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
