Public bug reported:
whoopsie-preferences has no way for a client to keep it alive. The daemon exits
60 s after its last D-Bus call, which stops the /var/lib/apport/autoreport
watch notifying clients, and gnome-control-center works around it by
re-spawning the service every minute (LP: #2167557).
Add Hold/Release pattern.
The daemon watches the holder's bus name so a crashed client releases
automatically.
Daemon lives while at least one hold is active.
Ported to GApplication so its native hold count and inactivity timeout
replace the hand-rolled idle timer.
Old clients see no behaviour change: they never hold, so the service still
lives ~60 s after activation when nobody holds it.
I do not see an up-to-date git/bzr repo on LP. I assume a debdiff is required
for this one.
