During a release upgrade from Ubuntu 24.04.5 LTS (noble) to 26.04.1 LTS
(resolute)
on a Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.1 (arm64), initramfs-tools fails to configure.
When update-initramfs generates /boot/initrd.img-7.0.0-1020-raspi, the
/etc/initramfs/post-update.d/flash-kernel hook exits with:
Unsupported platform 'Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.1'.

dpkg: error processing package initramfs-tools (--configure):
old initramfs-tools package postinst maintainer script subprocess failed
with exit status 1
This leaves dpkg in a failed state mid-upgrade, and the new kernel/initrd are
not
copied to /boot/firmware, so the system may not boot if rebooted.
The same upgrade succeeds on another Pi 4 whose model string matches the
"Raspberry Pi 4 Model B *" entry in /usr/share/flash-kernel/db/all.db. The
Rev 1.1 board (an early Pi 4 revision) is not matched during the upgrade.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.1 running Ubuntu 24.04.5 LTS
2. Update boot EEPROM (upgrader requires >= 2022-11-25)
3. sudo do-release-upgrade -d
4. initramfs-tools configuration fails with the error above
Expected: the upgrade completes and the kernel/initrd are installed to
/boot/firmware.
