I've changed package to lubuntu-default-settings ; as you're not actually having a problem with your LXQt session (as I understand it), but issue is the session choices at login, or our (Lubuntu) configs...
I also wonder if this issue is a result of release-upgrade ; or an older install where the default sessions choices were made initially by Xorg/X11 media, and you've later release-upgraded to a release which has Wayland configs mixed in.
