Public bug reported:

I'm assuming this is in gnome-system-monitor, but I don't know for sure.

The keys appear to be mapped correctly - when I bring up the keyboard
settings app from the Preferences menu and navigate: shortcuts, binding,
search by accelerator, and press the keys, it reports they are bound to
Monitor Brightness down/up, correctly. They are bound to Fn 3 and 4, for
down/up, respectively

The problem is nothing happens. When I migrated from 25.10 to 26.04, the
screen brightness jumped waaaay up and my eyes are tearing. FWIW, the
audio function keys work fine.

This is on an LG Gram laptop - I assume you have that info.

I also have an HP Envy desktop that suffers the same problem.
