If the rtl8812au module is not building correctly, the kernel may still
have issues because of that (even if it booted this time). You should
not need the rtl8812au-dkms package with newer kernels. Try removing it,
reinstalling the kernel image, and rebooting:

sudo apt purge rtl8812au-dkms
sudo apt install --reinstall linux-headers-6.17.0-35-generic 
linux-image-6.17.0-35-generic
