Right-clicking on folded tray icons in the system status bar triggers
unexpected collapse of ukui-sni
Description:
Summary
In Ubuntu Kylin (UKUI desktop environment), right-clicking on an application
icon that is currently hidden within the folded/collapsed system tray area
causes the ukui-sni (Status Notifier Item) service to behave unexpectedly.
Specifically, the action triggers the tray to collapse or refresh abruptly,
often preventing the context menu from appearing or causing the icon group to
dismiss immediately. This disrupts the user's ability to access quick settings
or options for background applications.
Steps to Reproduce
Log in to Ubuntu Kylin with the UKUI desktop environment.
Ensure there are multiple applications running in the background that place
icons in the system tray (e.g., input method, network manager, volume control).
Configure the taskbar to "Hide inactive icons" or ensure the tray area is
in a collapsed state due to space constraints.
Locate the arrow or indicator that shows there are folded/hidden icons.
Right-click on one of the visible folded icons (or the expansion arrow
itself, depending on the specific UI behavior).
Observe the behavior of the system tray.
Expected Behavior
Right-clicking on a tray icon should open the application's context menu
without altering the visibility state of the tray (i.e., it should not force
the tray to collapse or refresh unexpectedly). The ukui-sni service should
remain stable.
Actual Behavior
Upon right-clicking, the system tray folds/collapses immediately, or the
ukui-sni process appears to restart/refresh, causing the context menu to either
fail to appear or disappear instantly. In some cases, this may lead to a
temporary disappearance of all tray icons.
