The quirk that originally made the speakers work is apparently still in place;
at least in the hwe-6.17-next branch. So the regression must come from
somewhere else.
(I pulled the kernel sources with git.)

Git history for the file sound/soc/amd/yc/acp6x-mach.c shows that it was
last changed in July of 2025 and it still contains my Laptop
(DMI_PRODUCT_NAME, "82QF").

** Description changed:

  Hi!

Since going from Linux 6.17.0-14 to 6.17.0-19 my Laptop has had sound
  issues.

  OS: Ubuntu 24.04
  Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7 14arb7

  The issue:
The laptop has four speakers; two tweeters and two woofers.
With the newer kernel, only the tweeters work.
  (And sound is really quiet.)

This is definitely a regression, because sound output was working fine before.
(And didn't work on really old kernel versions from a few years ago. Not sure
exactly when the speakers started to work properly though.)

Possible workaround (that might damage the speakers):
  sudo i2cset -y 3 0x48 0x2 0
  sudo i2cset -y 3 0x48 0x3 0

Not sure what exactly changed, since git.launchpad.net always throws a
503 for me. (Probably due to the current LLM madness; my condolences)

  Kind regards,
  Simon
