Public bug reported: Hi!
Since going from Linux 6.17.0-14 to 6.17.0-19 my Laptop has had sound issues. OS: Ubuntu 24.04 Laptop: Lenovo Yoga 7 14arb7 The issue: The laptop has four speakers; two tweeters and two woofers. With the newer kernel, only the tweeters work. (And sound is really quiet.) This is definitely a regression, because sound output was working fine before. (And didn't work on really old kernel versions from a few years ago. Not sure exactly when the speakers started to work properly though.) Possible workaround (that might damage the speakers): sudo i2cset -y 3 0x48 0x2 0 sudo i2cset -y 3 0x48 0x3 0 See: https://github.com/tomsom/yoga-linux/issues/3 https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=216299 https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=208555 https://github.com/tomsom/yoga-linux/issues/58 Not sure what exactly changed, since git.launchpad.net always throws a 503 for me. (Probably due to the current LLM madness; my condolences) Kind regards, Simon ** Affects: linux-hwe-6.17 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2145019 Title: Speaker output regression from 6.17.0-14 to 6.17.0-19 on Lenovo Yoga 7 14arb7 (TAS2563) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-hwe-6.17/+bug/2145019/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
