@Nathan: thank you for your reply, and the instructions.

I just tried with the stable channel, and I didn't manage to reproduce
it by loading an old .eml file with an attachment [1], and saving this
attachment. I didn't try to re-setup accounts.

Then I tried to re-open "thunderbird" to check if that was enough to
reproduce the issue, but I got errors with snap:

  $ MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1 snap run thunderbird
  Content snap command-chain for
/snap/thunderbird/1013/gpu-2404/bin/gpu-2404-provider-wrapper not found: ensure
slot is connected

I did try to disconnect and reconnect mesa-2404, then got this error:

  Content snap command-chain for /snap/thunderbird/1013/gnome-
platform/command-chain/desktop-launch not found: ensure slot is
connected

Same after having removed thunderbird_stable.

I then removed and re-install "thunderbird" from the beta channel, and
re-opened it without any profile. I then got a basic window with this
content:

  <html id="messengerWindow" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml";
  ^

In the terminal:

Gtk-Message: 11:36:28.147: Not loading module "atk-bridge": The functionality
is provided by GTK natively. Please try to not load it.
/usr/share/libdrm/amdgpu.ids: No such file or directory
  console.log: "Error reading 'options.label'"
JavaScript error: resource://devtools/client/definitions.js, line 861: Error:

426))
  JavaScript error: resource://gre/modules/AsyncShutdown.sys.mjs, line 587:
uncaught exception: undefined

(I restored my ~/snap/thunderbird/common directory, and I was able to
re-open TB. I tried to open the same .eml file, but I was not able to.
Note that after the re-installation, the look is different from before,
not using my GTK theme. When I compare "snap connections thunderbird"
from what I had before, I see "content thunderbird:gtk-3-themes -"
instead of "content[gtk-3-themes] thunderbird:gtk-3-themes gtk-common-
themes:gtk-3-themes" ; same for the other "gtk-common-themes" ones. But
I guess that's another bug. Should I create a new ticket?)

An issue only with the beta version? Can you reproduce it on your side
with an empty 'common' directory?

Note that I started to have the original issue when I was still on the
v148.0-b6-1 version, but it was maybe there before.
