Public bug reported:
I noticed that my system booted without "quiet splash" and that
/etc/default/grub was gone. I have grub-efi-amd64 and grub2-common
installed, but not grub-common any more. I did run "apt purge ~c" some
time before which removed grub-common.
"sudo cp /usr/share/grub/default/grub /etc/default/grub" restored the
previous behavior.
So purging grub-common should not remove /etc/default/grub if
grub2-common is installed.
