I've just updated an Asus Laptop with Intel graphics to 24.04-3 which all went smoothly until providing the password to the LUKS volume during startup. The LUKS password dialog displayed as expected then after a second or so there's a flash of the screen and it's like there's an overlay and no password characters seemed to register.
Adding i915 to /etc/initramfs-tools/modules and running "update- initramfs -u" cured this problem for me too. BRIGHTNESS Control: adding this module also fixed the brightness controls Fn+F5 / Fn+F6 which after the update were fixed on full brightness. As anyone encountering the above problems may also be stuck with the Touchpad permanently on, removing the synaptics module: sudo apt remove xserver-xorg-input-synaptics Now Fn+F9 toggles the Elantech touchpad on/off again - as it should! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2091864 Title: Cannot enter luks password at boot after kernel 6.8.0-50 upgrade To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2091864/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
