This is a work-around for others who have run into this problem. In order to get a working postgres-8.2 installation, I first installed postgres-8.1
sudo apt-get install postgresql-8.1 Then, I followed the instructions at http://www.tienhuis.nl/archives/13 to upgrade from 8.1 to 8.2. Now, I have a working postgresql-8.2 installation that starts. -- postgresql 8.2 won't start, init.d-functions uses wrong paths https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/175868 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
