$ sudo dkms status Error! Could not locate dkms.conf file. File: /var/lib/dkms/nvidia/535.230.02/source/dkms.conf does not exist.
I get the same error after reinstalling nvidia-dkms-535 - the reinstall process ends without errors. But now my monitor works with the -78 kernel.
