@Kevin: > Also, is this bug a regression?
Yes, this worked at least since March: Mär 12 11:24:13 framework1 systemd[1]: Stopped target sleep.target - Sleep. Mär 12 12:42:40 framework1 systemd[1]: Reached target sleep.target - Sleep. Mär 13 10:18:59 framework1 systemd[1]: Stopped target sleep.target - Sleep. Mär 13 11:17:59 framework1 systemd[1]: Reached target sleep.target - Sleep. Mär 13 15:18:37 framework1 systemd[1]: Stopped target sleep.target - Sleep. > Did this issue start happening after a specific update/upgrade? I've attached a list of all updates that were applied before the problems began: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/2120185/+attachment/5897626/+files/dpkg- since-2025-08-04.log I suspect that one of them causes the problem. It might be linux- firmware:amd64 20240318.git3b128b60-0ubuntu2.15 but also maybe mutter or gnome updates since wayland or some part of the UI / lock screen hangs. When it happens the next time, I'll try to ssh into the machine. > Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem? $ zgrep " install linux-image-6" /var/log/dpkg.log.2.gz /var/log/dpkg.log.1 /var/log/dpkg.log /var/log/dpkg.log.2.gz:2025-06-23 11:12:42 install linux-image-6.8.0-62-generic:amd64 <none> 6.8.0-62.65 /var/log/dpkg.log.1:2025-07-03 11:36:34 install linux-image-6.8.0-63-generic:amd64 <none> 6.8.0-63.66 /var/log/dpkg.log.1:2025-07-18 10:23:15 install linux-image-6.8.0-64-generic:amd64 <none> 6.8.0-64.67 /var/log/dpkg.log.1:2025-07-31 14:01:41 install linux-image-6.8.0-71-generic:amd64 <none> 6.8.0-71.71 $ ll /boot/vmlinuz-* -rw------- 1 root root 15006088 Jun 15 09:57 /boot/vmlinuz-6.8.0-64-generic -rw------- 1 root root 15006088 Jul 22 17:23 /boot/vmlinuz-6.8.0-71-generic -62 to -64 worked 100%.
