Glad to hear there is a workaround for those who don't want to install
custom gtk4 packages. I'd be happy to share the packages I built btw. I
didn't attach them here because I assumed that might be frowned upon,
since they are quite big and sharing unsigned packages might be a
security risk.

How can we get this fix into the next point release of 24.04? Could
someone familiar with Ubuntu processes suggest a next step? At this
point I think it's pretty much established what needs to be done, and
that the fix should be merged into the branch for 24.04 on
https://salsa.debian.org/gnome-team/gtk4.git.
