I just upgraded my daily driver using the test plan above and it worked
for me. I am using Steam and have i386 libraries installed so I had
fortunately seen the news on this before trying to upgrade earlier. It
seems to have worked for me.

Some notes on my system:
* I was using kernel 6.14.2-061402-generic as installed via the tool 'mainline'
from ppa:cappelikan/ppa
* My system is dual boot Windows 11 -- no issues with grub
* Upgrade finished in less than 15 minutes

Issues Encountered:
* Not really an issue but I have rclone installed by deb from rclone.org so I
got the "unofficial packages" notice on it
* I got an error about a file I never modified: "Configuration file
'/etc/GNUstep/gdomap_probes' ==> File on system created by you or by a
script.". I never modified that file, and after examining it I decided to
choose to install package maintainer's version instead of default to keep the
file.
* I don't know if this is normal in upgrades, but my apt source for kopia
disappeared and I had to delete sources list file for the cappelikan/ppa and
run `sudo add-apt-repository ppa:cappelikan/ppa` and follow directions again
from
https://kopia.io/docs/installation/#linux-installation-using-apt-debian-ubuntu

I have included what debs and snaps I had on my system before and after
the install. I also have a capture of the upgrade script (via tee) which
I can provide if requested since it's large.

** Attachment added: "Debs and snaps installed before and after plucky upgrade"
