LibreOffice 7.3.7.2 FontConfig 2.13.1-4.2ubuntu5 is installed. I can confirm message #7 by Suppen Casper: removing libreoffice-gtk3 removes the "lag" of the LibreOffice Writer font menu (but makes the LibreOffice menu, like the right-click pop-up menu, somehow look "odd", "old-fashioned" - but workable).
