I'm using Kubuntu Gutsy (7.10).

As requested I executed the following command (hdc is my DVD-CDRW-
Combo):

$ sudo hdparm -q -f /dev/hdd && echo $?
BLKFLSBUF failed: Function not implemented
0

Additionally I've the problem that my notebook needs at least 3 bootups
until it loads correctly into KDE. I can neither login into shell nor
doing something else than to hard-reboot the computer (ALT+PRINT+B).
Changing into tty1 the last message I can read, is:

BLKFLSBUF failed: Function not implemented

Therefore I got here.

Has anybody same problems? Are these problems related to hdparm at all?
