I also get this error with Ubuntu Budgie 21.10, may try going to 21.04 and see if it changes. I think this is occurring due to the "ntfsresize tainted" error in the log - I do have Windows on half the partition and had used "MiniTool Partition Wizard to clear half the drive first. Might be a path to replicating the error.
Step 1) Install Windows on half the drive. Step 2) Install Windows on the other half Step 3) Use MiniTool Partition Wizard and clear half the drive. Step 4) Attempt to install Ubuntu - If you get past the "Updates and other software" screen then go the recommended route and then click the go back button instead of confirming that you want to go forward.
