I'd appreciate it if people who suffer from this problem could take it
for a spin and report back.

Make sure to use full kms, i.e., dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d and also verify
that you're actually running the test kernel:

$ uname -a
Linux rpi-4b-rev1d4-d9f5 5.13.0-1008-raspi #9+20211014.git9545d93d SMP PREEMPT
