Confirmed, with your audio chip (same I have on my HP DV6560-EL) you
need ALSA v1.0.15 or newer.

I found this Ubuntu page to be useful in installing the new ALSA driver
by hand:

It will take you just 5 minutes to compile and install the new ALSA
driver, and rest assured your sound chip _will_ work afterwards, as mine
does now.
