I just rebooted and timed (phone stopwatch) the boot of - motion computing j3400 (c2d-u9400, 4gb, intel mobile 4 series)
using Ubuntu 21.04 desktop daily (see comment #4; http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/milestones/419/builds/228934/testcases/1303/results) which is the device that @jmarinho noted I referred to as booting "extremely slow" I started the stopwatch when a GRUB message appeared on screen ** the first sign of plymouth (ubuntu logo) appeared @ 8mins 45secs ** the wallpaper first appeared @ 9 mins 58 secs ** the "Try Ubuntu/Install Ubuntu" question appears at 10 mins 18 secs I haven't installed hirsute on that box, so I don't know if it's an issue only with the live/casper system, or related to the 5.11 kernel (I've not used that box all that frequently this hirsute cycle, but I do use it on occasion and don't recall it being that slow a ~month ago or at least 5.8 days) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1922342 Title: HIrsute live session takes ages to boot on BIOS systems To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/casper/+bug/1922342/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
