Hi brunus, Package "patch" seems to be in the default installation and I read its manual and then tried this:
1. Opened the patch text file at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=99743&action=view, pasted it into a file in my system and named the file "patch". 2. Run patch: $ patch -i /home/user/Desktop/patch --verbose The package finds the input file but returns "cannot find the file to patch at input line 3". Line 3 seems to be |+++ gdm/common/gdm-common.h but I cannot find neither a path "gdm/common" nor a file "gdm-common.h". I will research further on how to use "patch" in ubuntu but meanwhile any clues anyone?
