If not having a ~/snap in your home is more important than what the entire snap ecosystem provides, then removing it indeed sounds like the right choice.
With that said, we've been working on this issue and Zygmunt says so above quite clearly, because we care, and always did. But we can only care about so many things at a time, and there are literally millions of people using this system and many of them are making requests that we also care about.
