Unfortunately I am unable to reproduce this bug with any reliability, so
it could be dependent on a number of other factors such as free memory
space or currently running programs.  The screensaver does eventually
return but upon exiting (by typing in password), Xorg uses 100% CPU and
it's very difficult to use programs during this period.  It can stay
that way for a long time but can recover.  I'd therefore suggest that
this bug be closed as it's unlikely a user would find him/herself in
this situation (unless you have colleagues who'd find it funny which is
how I came across this).  I generated the text by typing in lol,
copy/pasting recursively untill I was pasting many paragraphs
continuously for 30 seconds by holding ctrl+v.
