Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
When attempting to create a wireless network with a '-' in the name, the network manager changes to show the trying to connect icon (the 2 dots with the spinner flying around them) and then never completes. Hovering the mouse over this displays a pop up that says "Attempting to join the wireless network '(null)'". The exact details to reproduce are very straight-forward: 1- Click on the networkmanager icon in the system tray 2- Click on "Create new wireless network" 3- Enter a name for the network that contains a '-', e.g., test-laptop 4- Observe that the icon then changes to trying to connect icon 5- Hover the mouse over the icon and see it says "Attempting to join the wireless network '(null)'" I am having other issues with this laptop, in that the wireless behaviour seems entirely erratic at the best of times. I have however confirmed this bug on another computer that does work fine. ** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- cant create a wireless network with a '-' in the name https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/158548 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
