I have two PCs and one without any ubuntustudio packages. I don't have the /etc/gdm/gdm-cdd.conf file anywhere. I only got it once I installed ubuntustudio-look (which installed ubuntustudio-gdm-theme). So with a default installation of ubuntu, that file doesn't exist. Also, I think that file is just linked to /usr/share/ubuntustudio-look/gdm-cdd.conf
