For Xerox Workcentre 3225 I have mentioned in this and the original sane bug the solution is: 1. Link the files in /usr/lib/sane to /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/sane, 2. Add the user that needs to use the scanner to the "lp" group. Otherwise the "Not a JPEG file: starts with 0x00 0x00" issue persists.
