Hi Chris, Are you sure there wasn't a problem with the sound file > (e.g., MP3) that you were playing in Rhythmbox? It seems unlikely that > Rhythmbox, itself, would somehow corrupt the sound. Can you try to play > the same song in both Rhythmbox and Songbird, and see what happens? Yes, I played the same files in each context. However the problem was gone on Wednesday evening when I tried Rhythmbox again. (Here's an interesting bug related to Songbird and Firefox that occurred (and was the reason I tried Rhyhmbox again). OGG file playing in Songbird. Chose another file. First file wouldn't stop playing. Thought I would have to kill X and log back in and started to close programs, beginning with Firefox. Song stopped. Started Firefox again. Started Songbird again. File started playing again. Shut down Songbird. Still playing. Shut down Firefox. Stopped. So I tried Rhythmbox. Crackle and pop all gone. I'm not bothering anyone with this bug as Songbied is in developer's release and this is most likely a Mozilla isue. Just thought you might find it amusing.) Thanks for your time and work.
