Another data point: The system seems to be stable with the 686SMP kernel with an ATI rage pro PCI video card installed: VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc 3D Rage Pro 215GP (rev 5c)
Now, the question seems to be whether the bug is specific to the Radeon 7000 chipset, or possibly something with the AGP implementation?
