Roger: Thank you for pointing this out.
The link for anyone's reference on this is here: https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Download_Old_Builds_5_0 I note they are up to the extension pack ver. 5.0.30 for all versions. I have downloaded the suggested 5.0.24 and ran it successfully. Best regards... Go to Oracle's site, navigate to Old Builds and then select the virtualbox-ext-pack, version 5.0.24, it's the same file for all Architectures, download it then open it with VirtualBox, using the context menu and then VirtualBox will happily download it and install it. I think it would be advisable to return the ownership of /usr/share to root, because of keeping the system safe. If you have taken ownership of /usr/share/sounds because of playing the Login sound or System sounds you'll have to take ownership of that folder only again. -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1620483 Bug #1620483 "package virtualbox-ext-pack 5.0.24-0ubuntu1.16.04...." : Bugs : virtualbox-ext-pack package : Ubuntu<https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1620483> bugs.launchpad.net package virtualbox-ext-pack 5.0.24-0ubuntu1.16.04.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 ProblemType: Package DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 Package: virtualbox-ext-pack 5.0.24-0ubuntu1.16.04.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-36.55-generic 4.4.16 Uname: Linux 4.4.0-36-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu2.1 AptOrdering: virtualbox-ext-pack: Install virtualbox-ext-pack: Configure NULL: ConfigurePending Architecture: a...
