I became the owner of /usr/share (sudo chown -R username:root /usr/share), removed completely the package using Synaptic and when I reinstalled the problem persisted. So, at least for me, this is not the resolution for this bug. Anyway many thanks for the help. I think I'll try to download the virtualbox-ext-pack for the (quite old, I must say...) 5.0.24 version that is in the Ubuntu repositories and then open the package with VirtualBox. I just hope that they still have these very old version available in their site...
