@Flames_in_Paradise I have tested: plasma-nm 4:5.4.2-0ubuntu1.1 amd64 On a live CD by using the process detailed in https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDCustomization#Extract_the_CD_.iso_contents and it fixed the problem and didn't seem to have any negative consequences.
I agree this fix should be pushed to the live cd for Kubuntu 15.10 or people will be turned away by how slow the desktop loads. Another change I recommend making is disabling the krunner option for "windowed widgets" which is enabled by default. This causes some kind of race condition which crashes krunner and plasmashell.
